Well, that voting system got tossed out the window in a big hurry. Wide-eyed shota it is then!
Tenshi had decided to pass the time by forcing a large stone pillar to rise out of the ground in the middle of the park. It took all of... what, five seconds to finish it? She sat at the very top of the pillar while thinking about what she could do, and where she could sleep. It hadn't occured to her just how complicated the Outside could be, and it's rather obvious that she didn't plan for any of it. She could rough it until her friend and tutor got back, but that would require her to do two things she didn't want to do: Eat the peaches on her hat, and sleep on the ground.
Oh sure, Celestial's didn't have to eat, nor did they have to sleep, but she had been in the habit of doing both for so long that her body had simply grown used to the routine. Get up, eat breakfast, bat- wait, Celestials don't need to bathe, err... Tenshi adopted a thinking pose while trying to think of what she considered her 'routine'. Naturally, she couldn't come up with much. She got up, ate, went down to bug her Reimu, try to put a collar on her, fail miserably, try to interact with the various denizens of Gensokyo...
Not really all that different from what she's doing right now. She's still trying to show off, just to a crowd that could be wowed by such simple displays. The language barrier was an understandable nuisance, especially since the whole 'language is not a barrier to understanding' deal Yukari had set up since Gensokyo's start made it so no one had to learn a different language. If you were inside the border, you could speak to anyone without having to pantomime or speak in the native language with all the aptitude of a toddler. The peach hat was more than a little annoyed by this aspect since she wasn't here just to preform increasingly complex magic tricks, she was here to hear the roars of adoration for those cheap tricks, and maybe convince those Outsiders that the stories that they had dismissed as childhood fantasies were in fact true, and that those 'fantasies' would like their place in the world back.
She absent-mindedly munched on a peach as she lay on her back, staring up at the evening sky, and by extension, the heaven only she could see. That being more because everyone else was too dense to look properly, rather than it being something truly unique to her. She lips turned downward into a frown the more she thought, and eventually she got back up to get back to ground level. She called up numerous stone pillars to accomplish this, each one being just as wide as the last, but coming down no more than a foot each time. The end result was a permanent staircase that went up about two stories, and took up a solid third of the park. She was so bored right now that she didn't even notice all the people gaping at her, and especially not the young boy who looked like he was staring at a goddess in human form. All she was interested in was getting the language issue taken care of.
She did pay attention to all the murmers around her, and eventually looked at those around her. Mere moments ago they had been staring at her, but now they're staring and pointing at something in the sky. She raised an eyebrow, then turned to look as well.
She wished she hadn't.
A beautiful woman with long, golden hair and amethyst eyes was descending from the clouds. She wore naught but a pure white robe- "And no undergarmnets if those perky nipples are any indication." -and had six angelic wings sprouting from her back. Everyone else was speaking in reverence of this angelic being, but the Celestial was merely annoyed. "Ugh, you and your fancy entrances." She was secretly glad that no one could understand a word she said, because she got the distinct feeling that the people staring at the 'angel' wouldn't take kindly to her badmouthing it. "You are such an attention whore, Yukari Yakumo."
Yukari finished her slow descent to the ground, finishing the display by making the grass her feet had touched turn a vibrant spring green, and had numerous wildflowers burst into bloom despite the fact that they didn't even exist before now. "My, how rude~" She took the insult in stride, spreading her little rejuvination effect as she walked toward the annoyed celestial. The people staring at her seemed to understand her words, which made them wonder just what the relation between these two women is. To them, it's like God Himself had sent one of his Seraphs to reign in an unruly angel. "I came to see how my wife is doing, and the first thing you do is call me an attention whore..." She mocked sadness as best as she could, but that smile would not disappear. "Though you are right~ I came here because I want your attention~"
"Urge to kill... rising..." Tenshi's smile was forced by comparison. While she was genuinely happy to see Yukari, especially at such a convenient time, she was just a little pissed off at how she was giving these people the wrong idea so casually. Yukari, pretending to be her wife? The idea was preposterous! She'd be poisoned the moment one tried to bed the other!
The gap youkai once again took it in stride, not growing resentful or angry herself and instead looking like she was having the time of her life. "Rudeness aside, you're having a few... language issues, correct?" She stepped in even closer until there was less then a foot between them. "Will you accept my aid~?"
The peach hat rolled her eyes and snorted, clearly unamused by the gap youkai's antics. "Just get it over with. You've already screwed things up for me as it is." She crossed her arms and waited.
She was genuinely surprised that Yukari had kissed her on the forehead rather than go for the lips like she thought she would, but wanted to display none of it. It was a nice change of pace from the near-routine harassment she usually got from her, usually after trying to collar Reimu, but she wasn't going to admit something like that! "Now you can speak without the barrier between language and understanding hindering you. You're free to do as you wish, for good or ill, so make the most of it, my angel~" She stepped away, then vanished in a pillar of blinding light.
Tenshi spoke four words under her breath while the crowd was still distracted: "God damn it Yukari."
