17025 No. 17025
You pick up your feet, not allowing the adrenaline to start draining from your system just yet. It only takes a few moments to cross to Remilia, hopping over the flower-beds as she misses again with her spear, frustration growing in her expression. You glance at Reimu to make sure you're not about to step in the way of a shot. She weaves to the other side, giving you an opening.
Remilia sees you as you step up beside her, sparing you only the briefest of looks.
"Kill it!" She says through gritted teeth.
You don't reply, only bring up your sword.

The monster is twisting out of the way of Remilia's spear every time she thrusts it forwards. Reimu can't hit it fast enough without catching Remilia in the blast. There is a gap between their attacks that it is just fast enough to slip through.
You close the gap.
The sword misses the creature's good arm as it tries to turn sideways, a yin-yang ball sailing past it's head, but the ghostly axe-head connects with the already broken one.
A severed arm flops to the floor like a cooked slab of meat. The monster roars in pain, blood spraying from the wound.
Remilia grins and slams her spear into its chest with a wet crunch.
It roars a second time, dragging her forwards as it stumbles.

You see its good arm come up, you can trace the path it will take, before it even hits. You can't get there fast enough.

The monster slams its claws into Remilia's face. You hear bone breaking as she falls backwards, letting go of the spear and hitting the ground.
You can't see her face properly, only a mess of blood.
Charging forwards, you reach her and force the monster back, swinging wildly. You can hear yourself shouting something, feel the sweat and tears on your face.
There is a missing frame in your sight, but no Sakuya appears to help you. Only a dull crunch as the monster kicks her in the chest, sending her sprawling next to her mistress.
"Someone he-" You turn and call, but you stop. Meiling and Suika are running towards you, Reimu is diving at the monster, holding what looks like a piece of yellowed parchment in one hand. None of this is what stops your voice in your throat.
Alice is floating in mid-air, Patchouli's arms wrapped around her middle. Her face is nuzzled up to Alice's ear, mouth moving.
Alice's eyes roll into the back of her head and she raises her hands.

You duck.

A beam of golden yellow light hits Remilia.

The next few seconds are a blur of motion as she shoots past you, wreathed in heat-haze speed, slamming into the monster with so much force it dents the ground with the impact. It falls, Remilia kneeing it in the chest.
You see her hand come up and pause, then shoot down.
Again.
And again.
And again.
"Die!" She yells, other hand wrapped around the creature's neck, squeezing. Her face is still bleeding, but the wounds are closing, huge scratches knitting shut as the heat-haze around her fades as fast as it appeared. The healing slows and you can see the pain in her face again.
The monster twitches a little, arm weakly grabbing at Remilia. It tears a scrap from her dress.

Sakuya appears at your side, holding onto Meiling for support. A small dribble of blood is making its way down her chin. "Mistress." She says. "It's over."
Reimu lands next to you. "Let me finish it properly." She says, voice quiet but forceful, still holding that piece of paper.
You glance behind you. Alice is carrying Patchouli, who is fast asleep. Genji has settled to the floor with Flandre.
Suika peers past Reimu. "Is it dead yet?"
Remilia shakes her head, sighing. She pulls the spear out of its chest with a wet sucking sound.

You step forward, placing your hand on Remilia's shoulder.
"Its over Remi, let Reimu exterminate it. It's just another troublesome Youkai now."
Remilia nods slowly, her spear fading into nothing as she stands up and steps away from the monster. She turns to you and her arms go around your middle, her head against your chest.
"Remi." You say gently, putting your arms around her. Her dress covered in tears and her hat is long missing. Her face has three deep scratches, slowly healing as she sighs against you. You wipe some of the blood away from her face with your sleeve. The back of her head is a mess of matted hair and blood, but nothing feels broken when you cradle it in your hand.
"How are you feeling?" You ask her.
"Sore." She says, smiling up at you.

"Okay. Here we go." Reimu says, stepping forwards.
"I am shocked and appalled that this party was started and is about to end without me!" A voice comes from the side as Yukari steps into view through a swiftly-opening gap.
Remilia turns to look at her. "Doesn't look like you would have been available anyway." She says.
You have to agree. Yukari is dressed in only a very long purple and white pajama top which reaches so far past her knees it looks like a dress. Her hair is a mess, tangled and squashed against the side of her head. Her eyelids are heavy and she yawns as you look at her.
"Yes, I suppose." She says sleepily.
Reimu rolls her eyes. She bends down and sticks the seal to the creature's forehead.

Reimu just leaps back in time as it swings out with its remaining arm, screeching.
"Oh for-" Reimu says. The monster flips to its feet and grins, the blackened skin around its mouth cracking and bleeding as it does.
Remilia twists away from you and is about to fly at the creature again when a gap opens above it.
A loud clanging noise echoes in your ears as an anchor bounces off the monster's head. Yukari smiles and flutters her eyelashes.
"What would you do without me?" She says.
Reimu sighs and clicks her fingers.
The monster erupts into a tightly contained pillar of flame, lasting only a second. A black mess of flesh is left behind, smoking softly on the floor.
Remilia sighs and runs her hand through her hair. "I guess it's over."

"Not quite yet." You say, stepping over to Remilia.
"What" She asks, suddenly surprised.
"What colour are my eyes?" You ask.
Remilia frowns, staring at you. "Same colour as always, why?" She asks.
"Because it didn't work." Mima's voice comes from behind you.
"What hole did you crawl out of?" Reimu asks.
"Never mind that right now, Miko!" Mima says, floating over to you and Remilia. "It didn't work because you rejected the help I gave you!"
"What didn't ... what are you talking about?" Remilia asks, looking suspiciously at Mima.
"She tried to turn me into a Youkai." You say.
"What?!" Remilia glares at Mima. You hear Yukari giggle. "When?" Remilia demands.
"During the fight, she was in my head for a moment." Mima folds her arms and rolls her eyes as you explain the rest to Remilia, skimming over the details. You can tell her it all later.
"You ...bitch!" Remilia says to Mima.
Mima gapes. "I saved his life didn't I? Even if it didn't work how it was supposed to."
Remilia points at Mima. "You better be leaving, ghost."
"Wait a second." You say. "What have you done to me?" You ask.
"I think you grew a Youkai suit of armour." Mima shrugs. "Don't ask me, you rejected it." Mima waves you away. "I'm going, you people are so damn glum. Be happy! You won!"
She vanishes with a puff of blue smoke.

"Well." Remilia says. "Well ... bitch."
You put your arm around Remilia's shoulders. "She's gone, I owe her nothing, don't worry."
Remilia nods.
You look up, seeing Eirin and Youmu come out of the front door. Youmu has one arm over Eirin's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" You ask her when they reach you.
Youmu nods, weakly.
"She needs lots of rest." Eirin says.
"I have one more thing to ask of you." Remilia says to Youmu. "Are you up to it?"
Youmu stays silent for a moment, then nods. "Okay. What is it?"
Remilia points to you.
"Does he look different to you?"
Youmu stares at you, eyes widening.
"He's no different, but where did all the armour come from?"
"You can see it? That means it must be a ghost. Is it connected to him?"
Youmu shakes her head.
"Could he take it off?"
"Probably." Youmu coughs. "You may want to get my Mistress to help."

Remilia turns back to you. "First thing tomorrow morning."
You nod. "Come here."
Remilia steps over and gives you a hug.
Behind her, you see Yukari open a gap, the remains of the monster falling through.
"Where did you send it?" Reimu asks.

"Andromeda." Yukari replies.

Two weeks later ...

You open your eyes and blink in the waning sunlight. If the curtains are already open, it must mean Sakuya has already been in this morning.

Afternoon, whatever. What time is it anyway? Time for breakfast, but time for some Remilia first.

Turning your head away from the window, you stretch your limbs out in the bed. You've gained some new aches overnight, Remilia really is very demanding. Better pay her back for that later. But when you reach your hand out, you find only the empty pillow next to you.
"Remi?" You sit up in bed, dumbly feeling around in the bed for her.
"Where-" You spot a note on her bedside table. Grinning to yourself, you reach over and pick it up. She's taken to surprising you like this, going off and doing things she hasn't done in years because you mentioned something to her, then rushing back and grabbing you for the express purpose of having you join in.
She's probably-
This is a very weird note.

'Gone to get the dog for training. Don't get up, breakfast in bed today. Remilia~'

"What the?" You mumble sleepily, smiling to yourself.

You lie back in bed, thinking of the things you were going to do today. If Remilia has something else planned ... oh well. Watching Flandre's danmaku can wait a few hours, she'll just show Meiling in the meantime. Suika promised to come take you up on that drinking game and Youmu still wants to take a look at your sword. Actually, missing that last one might be a good idea, Yuyuko has proved rather creepy to be around since you met her, running her hands over your armour. Not every day you meet a ghost Princess and she helps you get undressed. You sigh, feeling sorry for Koakuma. She seemed a little lonely with Patchouli off doing something with Alice. Right, if you only get one thing done today, you have to go play with Koakuma.

Or just lie here, you think as quite an impressive sight enters the room.
"Morning!" Remilia says.
"Good morning." You say back, sitting up, unsure if you should be frowning or grinning.
Remilia has the end of a leash in one hand. The other end is connected to a collar around Sakuya's neck. She has a pair of fake dog ears poking out of her hair and a very embarrassed expression. She is carrying a plate of bacon and eggs.
"Morning Sakuya." You say, almost managing to keep the laugher out of your voice.
Remilia steps over to the table and pats her leg at Sakuya. "Here girl, good dog."
Sakuya silently obeys and places the plate on the table.
"Your brekfaargh!" Sakuya squeals as Remilia brings a hand down hard on her rump.
"Dogs don't speak." She says, wagging a finger at Sakuya.
Sakuya looks down, turning even redder.
"I said." Remilia's hand hovers behind Sakuya again "Dogs don't speak."

"Woof woof." Sakuya says.

"Good girl! Good dog!" Remilia says, giggling and rubbing Sakuya's head.
"Remi, um ..." You trail off, stunned.
"She was a bad doggy." Remilia says.
"I suppose she was." You say, nodding.
Remilia turns back to Sakuya. "Sit!" She says.
Sakuya looks up at Remilia. "Mm-Mistress, please-"
"Come on now." Remilia says. "If you're a good dog, you will get a reward."
Sakuya looks back down, biting her lip. Then she gets down on her hands and knees, presenting her backside to you.
"Remi, oh what the ..." You mutter.
"You promised her a spanking." Remilia says, giggling. "Didn't you?"
You nod as Remilia steps over to you and sits down on your lap, wrapping her arms around your neck.
"Here." She hands you a small lightweight paddle.
You stare in shock and then look up at her.
"You're fantastic." You say.
She grins at you. "What do you think Sakuya?" She says over her shoulder.
"Woof woof." You can hear the barely contained exasperation this time. You laugh.

Remilia kisses you.

Basic questions first: your favorite, least favorite, easiest to write, and hardest to write posts.
What mix of canon and fanon were you using for characterization? Were some characters more influenced by canon representations (and vice versa)?
When we were freaking out about the letter for the first time, you offered a hint about its contents and we refused. What was the hint going to be?
Anything that surprised you as the story went on? Anything you wanted to write this playthrough but we missed?
About how many times were we within a single choice of getting bad ended?
Did you use any visual references for the basement ghouls?
We saw a lot of characters from around Gensokyo; was there the potential to see just about anyone depending on our choices, or were some areas (and their associated characters) completely out of the question?
What question do you wish we would ask right now?
>> No. 17131
Ok. I know lots of people wants to do Koakuma/China next, but we need to think. We have just done Remi's route. It was awesome and all, GOOD END and etc. But let's not forget, there are still some questions left unanswered. Like, who was that monster? Why Remi wanted him dead? What really happened to her that she forgot?

These and any other Scarlet related question can be answered by only one person: Flandre. She knows everything. She has shown us she's not what we think she was: a small loli girl which happens to have awesome powers and an unstable mind. But she's not. She is much, much more.

We need to do her route next. She is a part of Remi route. She's the second half of a whole: the past of one goes along the past of another.

That and finding the balance between moe and fight for survival.

I'd honestly rather the freaky mysterious dark side of Flandre remain freaky, mysterious, and dark. If we learn exactly what sets her off then the other routes will be less interesting.
>> No. 17146
Since a lot of Remilia data is left out in a manner that suggests it will be answered by Flandre's route, maybe we should frame the routes as question & answer arcs:

(Q) Remilia -> (A) Flandre
(Q) Koakuma -> (A) Patchouli
(Q) China -> (A) Sakuya

Note that moving Q->A moves from a lighter story to a presumably darker one in all three cases, thus maintaining a balance. Second, if we do all the Q arcs and then all the A arcs, or simply move Q->A, either way Sakuya still has the honor being last--the Kohaku route.

Am I the only one who wants to go straight into Sakuya's route next, or failing that, for it to at least not be the very last one we go for?

With how she's been towards us this for much of this round, and is bound to be in at least one or two of the others (unless her relationship with the lovable gate guard changes, we WILL be clashing with her in Meiling's route) the prospect of her reversal from someone we hate to someone we love makes her route sound like one of the most interesting ones, from a character standpoint. I certainly can't see a similar reversal happening with any of the other characters. Remilia, POSSIBLY, could turn out to be someone we're not entirely fond of if she started treating us like she was treating Sakuya at the end, but can you even imagine the mere possibility of hating Koakuma, Meiling, or Flandre in any way? I think not.

While saving such a big reversal for after all the others have been cleared would be nice, the sheer length of Remi's route alone indicates that it would be a VERY long time before we get to that point. Assuming, of course, we even get that far at all.

As much as I hate to say it, but expecting to be able to get to every single possible route might be rather unrealistic, especially if they're all roughly of the scale that Remi's was. If any route has got to get the axe, I'd much rather it not be the one with possibly the most potential to be different and interesting.

Besides that, Sakuya's route is also bound to have answers for some questions that have been raised in Remi's route, and given the choice between having a few questions raised and getting a lot of them answered or having a lot of questions raised and having few of them answered, I'd much rather take the one that will leave the fewest loose ends as possible.

I don't mind something lighter before we plunge head-first back into the depths of despair, but I think we should keep an attitude that regards these routes much like we should regard our days: treating each one like it was our last, because for all we know it may very well be.

How the fuck did Sakuya carry out her whole "knock us out, abduct us from Remi's bed, dress us, arm us, and dump our ass into the underground" plan while in the state she was in? Did the fairies really help her? How did they get us under that grate, if it looked to be too heavy for even us to move? How did they even get roped into doing it? And what happened to Frisca? After that scene where we got dressed in front of her, we pretty much never heard or saw her again.

YES and YES. Christ, I'm more excited about getting closer to Meiling route than about reaching the Good End for this one. Meiling NEEDS us.

>Meiling eventually looks up at you with bloodshot eyes, wiping her wet cheeks on her arm.
>"Sorry." She says, sorrow still evident from her strangled voice.
>"No." You say. "I should be the one saying sorry, Meiling. You're an innocent in all of this. I am truly sorry."
>Her face contorts again and tears roll down her cheeks. This time she doesn't look away from you, just tries to speak through the sobs.
>"W-why can't I h-have someone like you?" She asks. "N-not Sakuya, not this. Why c-cant I just have something simple?"
>You move your hand, rubbing her back. She wipes her eyes but it's in vain at the moment, she can't stop the tears.
>"You're always so kind." She says, gesturing weakly at the eggs now all over the grass. "You even brought me food."
>"Here." You say, picking up your own plate, offering it to her. "You can have mine."
>Meiling sobs again, making a little whining noise in her throat. "Oh ... I can't. I can't." She shakes her head. "You even apologized to me! When she tried to kill you." Meiling reaches over and clings to your shoulders, wet face on your shoulder.

That's sad Meiling. We can change this. We can choose happy Meiling:

>"That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard!" Meiling has a huge smile plastered on her face, eyes brimming with tears of happiness.
>"Meiling?"
>She jumps up from the bed and holds her arms up triumphantly. "It's wonderful! It's great! They actually shared a bed?" She turns back to you again.
>"Yeah, like I said."
>"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm." Meiling makes a noise not entirely unlike purring.

I want to make her as happy as we possibly can. I love seeing her happy. Don't you?

Oh, what a shame we won't be seeing Patchy's route for a while. Aside from the sisters, she had probably gone the longest of anyone there without love or intimacy when the story began, and if we had not helped get her together with Alice she'd probably have been the loneliest at the end.

Her eventual route will be worth it just for the slow-paced H-scene with her cutely coughing and wheezing as we make love, and we have to stop halfway to perform CPR. Until then, we had goddamn better make sure to hook her up whenever we can in the other routes.

>>1. Did Remilia and Belmonymous live happily ever after?

Very much so.

>>2. What were the triggers for the various Remilia route endings?

This is a little complicated. You've been on track for the Good End for a long time now. There were two threads running through the Remilia route, one was the monster upstairs, the other was her relationship with Flandre. If you don't put enough effort into repairing the relationship between the sisters, you get the Normal End. Other than that, you could get a couple of horrible Sad Ends, once when you went to talk to Sakuya when she was locked up, another when you pick between Mima and the Sword guy in your head.

>>3. What basically happened in the other endings? (very short summaries)

Normal End = When Flandre loses her temper with Remilia, saying that she 'did this last time' and the stuff about her brain rotting, if you haven't brought them close enough, Remilia panics. The one lynchpin holding together Flandre's fragile sanity is the absolute knowledge that her sister loves her, so when Remilia doesn't know what to do and slaps Flandre, it is not good. Flandre and Remilia fight, you have the option to help Remilia or stay out of it. If you help, Flandre dies, then Remilia kills herself out of guilt. If you stay out, Flandre kills Remilia and then drops into a catatonic state from the reality of killing her sister. Anon weeps, Sakuya kills him. I know that doesn't sound like it fits in with the story as it was, but you steered so far away from it that things took a completely different tone. I'm glad I didn't have to write it.

Sad End 1 = When you go to see Sakuya, if you don't say the right things she kills herself. You have a window in which to stop her, but if you fail then Remilia never confronts the monster upstairs, fading away in depression. Anon and Flandre grow closer and you live out the rest of your days in the Mansion, a life forever spent hoping Remilia will rouse herself, comforting Flandre when she cries about 'why doesn't sister come out any more?'

Sad End 2 = Mima meant well, but she doesn't know when to stop. If you had accepted her offer then she would have turned you into a Youkai and you would have lost your mind instantly. You win the battle, but everything is a blur. Cue epilogue with Remilia visiting a chained and gagged Anon every day in the tower, trying to coax some semblance of humanity from him, Mima forced to work on reversing what she did. They fail.

>>What would have happened if we had kissed Sakuya?

I can't tell you the 'why' of this, because you didn't pick any of the options that would have told you what the significance of it was, might be important in other routes. I can tell you that she would have been just as injured, but have wounded the monster in a significant way, changing the final battle with it quite a lot.

>>What would have happened if we accepted Mima's offer? (as in, how would the whole becoming a youkai work/what kind would we be?)

Horrible Sad End. No Anon you are the monster.

>>How would things have progressed if we didn't return Sakuya's watch?

In Eientei? There would have been a very different day following the Remi H-scene, with Sakuya trying to get it back, then actually fighting you one she did. Big battle scene, lots of awesome. Shame I didn't get to write it.

>>What spoilers did we miss during this route?

Sorry, could you explain what you mean?

>>Were we VERY CLOSE to that Remi/Sakuya 3-way and missed it with moralfaggotry during that thrall episode?

You missed Remilia watching you fuck Sakuya's brains out, followed by Remi being very very possessive over you to teach Sakuya that she can't have you ever again. It would have changed things somewhat in the Epilogue, but you still get the Good End.

>>MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION: The handjob was Remi, right?

Really tempted not to answer this, since you lot never bothered to actually ask her. YES. About a week after the End, she surprises you in the bath again and blushingly explains that she was just curious, having never seen it before. Note that she did that while still seeing you as an interesting curiosity that wandered into her home.

>>Can we do some brief scene selection and get some "punishment" from Remilia?

If enough people ask for it, alright.

>>Would the person giving the handjob have changed based on what route we chose, like some kind of quantum handjob?

Nope, but it almost certainly won't crop up again in other playthroughs.

>>How would have things played out if we didn't bother to grab the sword or the skull?

You would have developed a very different kind of ability, can't tell you what it is, but you can make a good guess.

>>What would have happened if we kissed Koakuma way back when instead of letting her kiss us first?

It would have broken the illusion and she would have run off, embarrassed.

>>What would have happened if we actually bothered to go to the places we could have(the room behind the fridge in the kitchen, the Creature's room upstairs) before the things inside them came out?

Significantly different fight scenes, injuries, ALART ALART! moments, a couple of quick Bad Ends.

>>What would we have gained by destroying THIS CHAIR in the kitchen?

You'll have to THIS CHAIR and find out.

>>What were the "potential hax" that we missed this route and how can we obtain them?

I'll give you a clue. You took a particular path of hax, but didn't explore it deeply. There are other paths.

>>Are you ever going to write that Comedy End where Arcuied shows up?

Yes.

Next batch in a bit.

>>Really tempted not to answer this, since you lot never bothered to actually ask her.

Not so much that we didn't bother, it didn't seem like a good idea to ask. If it was her, she'd be slightly embarrassed, but if it wasn't - and there were significant hints that it might have been Koakuma - then Remi gets very, very upset. Thanks for clearing it up.

Favourite: The wall-jumping near the start.
Least Favourite: Not sure, but I hate writing long descriptions, lots of dialogue is much better.
Easiest: Again, delicious dialogue. Not sure about any post in particular, but for some reason the H-scenes just flowed without any effort at all.
Hardest: Fight scenes, always, though I really like them once they're done.

>>What mix of canon and fanon were you using for characterisation? Were some characters more influenced by canon representations (and vice versa)?

Remilia got a lot of canon, but then I had to add some fanon of my own with her being in love. I hope it worked, but I also hope to keep her more canon in other routes.

Sakuya was heavy on the fanon. Lots of angry, lots of knives, none of her being an airhead. She will probably stay like this. Although does Dio count as canon or fanon? Either way, it'll be good.

Flandre was something I cooked up myself. WuiG already gave us insane Flandre, so I took a different approach. All her canon stuff is still in there, wrapped in a blanket of fanon ℳℴℯ.

Meiling is pretty much canon, taken to a logical conclusion. All the stuff I added (ie. her room) is just how I see her canon character playing out as normal. But, there will be quite a bit more fanon for her in other routes, but it won't change her core character at all.

Patchouli is canon. I haven't really added much to her character, but may well do so during her route depending on how she feels to write.

Koakuma? Do I even need to tell you? It's mostly my own interpretation, mixed with some of her from doujins.

>>When we were freaking out about the letter for the first time, you offered a hint about its contents and we refused. What was the hint going to be?

I honestly can't remember, I think it was going to be something about it being safe for you to read it yourself.

>>Anything that surprised you as the story went on?

A lot of things, the sheer awesome of some of the write-ins (especially the one that led to Flandre's story time and Smaug.) Generally a lot of things that the characters did that I didn't plan, which just seemed right and led to a better scene.

>>Anything you wanted to write this playthrough but we missed?

Lots of things. The top of the list has to be the Remilia vs. Mokou scene, which you were so far away from I gave up all hope of writing it.

>>About how many times were we within a single choice of getting bad ended?

Dozens.

>>Did you use any visual references for the basement ghouls?

Lovecraft's Ghouls, particularly how they are portrayed in the Call of Cthulhu rpg.

>>We saw a lot of characters from around Gensokyo; was there the potential to see just about anyone depending on our choices, or were some areas (and their associated characters) completely out of the question?

You could have seen almost anyone, barring Tenshi, Iku and the TH11 characters, for obvious reasons.

>>What question do you wish we would ask right now?

'Is that so~?'

>>17146
I will say right now, it doesn't work like this. And for the last time, there is no 'Kohaku' route.

>>What title will you give to this story?

Expectation of Sanguine Disorder. ie. Waiting for a bloody mess.

>>what did Meiling and Sakuya talk about in private?

About Sakuya's future, about how they felt, about the past few days. Sakuya had a little breakdown, Meiling held her.

>>If we go for Meiling's path, will she be straight, and will Remilia play bedtop sports with her dog?

Wait and see.

>>If we go for Flan's path, will we *not* encounter the thing in the attic?

Correct, Flandre's path is utterly different, dealing with different things.

>>I'm curious....What if we discretely mentioned to someone (Patchouli) that Gensokyo is known in the outside world by way of the Touhou games?

Hilarity ensues.

>>HY, any possibility of a EX Rumia cameo?

Very. After all, how can I resist some self-insertion?

>>How soon are you starting up again, HY?

Give me a few days. I'm actually going to be pretty busy this summer (not working means doing other things), but I will find at least some time to write every day.

>>Will asking about Remi/Patchi's path carry over to Patchi's route, or do we have to get Remi to tell us again in order to initiate it next time?

Sorry, I don't understand.

>>Also, HY, what was your favourite and worst part/moment during the making of the CYOA?

Favourite: Other than the writing itself? Watching Anon chase his own behind, not knowing what to do.
Worst: Being stuck at work, coming up with ideas and not being able to write them down.

She healed a lot faster than it looked, although she wasn't at full strength. The Fairies did not help her, they would have informed Remilia simply with how worked up they would have got over something like that. I can't tell you why or how Sakuya was healing faster than it looked, because you never found out about that on this route. The grating? Stopping time makes the entire world a non-event, so why would you need strength to lift anything?

Frisca lives in the Mansion with the rest of the Maids, wistfully dreaming of a time she peeked over her shoulder and saw a human male changing. She liked it. In fact she liked it so much she keeps trying to peek on you sometimes, Remilia puts up with it because she can't bring herself to hurt someone who is just admiring you. She knows the Maids would never touch you.

>>Be honest HY: Do you really have it in you to do several playthroughs of this story?

Eh, I don't know. I want to write them all. I have a lot to get done this summer, but I will have more free time come the end of September. I'll admit, I want to write other things, first and foremost right now being my part of the Touhou VN Project. I might slow right down with this sometimes, but if I still have readers and free time, then I would like to keep going, at least at some kind of rate. Don't expect any serious slowdown or stopping at the moment though.

Also there's Pirates of Gensokyo, if anyone is up for it.

>>when did you think of the vampire in the tower? right from the beginning or did this idea cross your mind during the playthrough?

It wasn't there from the start, but got thrown in when I was brainstorming ideas a couple of days into writing.

>>Surprised nobody's asked this yet, but HY, what route do you want to write next?

Any of them! Really, I'm geared up for anything.

>>Did Meiling and Sakuya get married or did they continue to live in sin?
If they did, who was the bride, who the groom?

Live in sin? Right, I'm going to say something really annoying now. Did I ever once say outright that Sakuya and Meiling's relationship was a sexual one? I didn't, although it may have been suggested.

That's why I was wondering if we could get a little more about their living "happily ever after." Auntie Flandre entertaining the kids with her Smaug impersonation would be awesome.

Wait, then we missed our chance to find out what that thing in the attic actually was? How could something that important be optional? Were there a lot of chances to find out and we avoided every one? I don't remember seeing many.

Honestly, the end felt pretty anti-climactic, not nearly enough closure. Remi's haunted by her desire to kill the thing in the attic, so we kill the thing in the attic and...that's it, plot stops, a little vague exposition about everyone living happily ever after, joke scene, THE END. That's hardly the only major problem/issue in the story, yeah?

How is Remi and Flan's relationship doing? Or Remi and Patchy, it was implied that she hadn't spoken to her much lately when she went to ask for her help fighting the monster, but how are things now? Flan yelled at Remi about her "brain rotting" and forgetting things, but what did she forget? How do they deal with Belnonymous's much shorter lifespan, do they try to extend it or just have fun while it lasts? What were the things we fought in the catacombs? Does Remi ever get a taste of Belnonymous's blood (a few drops from a cut, maybe), just for curiosity's sake?

And that's just off the top of my head. Feels like way too many loose ends, too many important things unresolved. I want to see more of how everyone's lives turn out.

>>What's the Sakuya/Remilia/Anon relationship in the end of this play through. The dog thing was just a one-time event, right?

It was a hint, a little morsel at the end of the game. For the full story, you might want to ask Patchouli.

>>Will there be a Cirno route? This is the only place where she truly belongs to, since she lives at the lake.

She might turn up, but she won't have a route, sorry. She does play a large part in Pirates of Gensokyo.

>>Oh, can you write the other endings? Since there we won't be doing Remi route again there isn't a chance we will be seeing them.

Eh, maybe if I have some time. I'll add them to the list of things to write, give them their own thread.

>>Way, way back we made a choice to the effect of 'Remi, I'm all yours', which was followed by the sound of cogs and a distinct change in the mood. From what I remember, people thought it was Remi's fate hax at work. Can you explain a bit more about this (i.e. what it was, and what would've been the repercussions if we'd let it continue by not questioning her 'authority')

It was her fate hax. Obeying her rather than breaking free would have caused problems. For a start you would never have saved Frisca, or had much exchange with Eirin (thus never gaining her as an ally), in that particular part. In the long run it would have ended in a massive argument with Remilia as your 'natural' vampire-hunter nature struggled to throw off the railroading of your fate.

>>Why /sdm/? Why did you choose to write a VN about the SDM as opposed to any other faction?

Honestly? I had only just got into Touhou and they seemed the most cohesive group to write about, plenty of space for tension and conflict. I was originally going to write an entire CYOA about Yuka, then something about Mima and Marisa, but scrapped those in favour of SDM.

>>What inspired you to start writing this? Was it just a sudden 'Hey, doing a VN might be fun' moment which you never expected to end up this big, or did you plan to write an epic when you set out?

Never planned for it to be an epic. Touhou is awesome, I wanted to write, it got me writing and I decided that if I can't finish this and make it awesome then I may as well give up writing all together.

>>Would it be too much to ask to elaborate on this a little? Or is this best left to our imaginations?

>>I'd also like to know if Anon remained completely human and mortal, or at least found some way of prolonging his life. If not, did Sakuya wind up having to Old Man Belmonymous's diapers?

Having got to know Eirin, Belmonymous asked for some stuff on the side and he got it, bottles of bottles of it. Sakuya's method was too complex for him to understand, quite frankly she didn't make a lot of sense when he asked her. Eirin promised it would keep him alive, and at no cost to his humanity. She's true to her word.

The wedding was probably the second biggest party Gensokyo has ever seen, topped only by Suika introducing Flandre to the wonders of alcohol.

As for children? By the time Remilia feels ready to adopt, Gensokyo will have changed beyond recognition. Perhaps that is a story for another time.

>>Was there a 'true end' planned, or just the good, normal, and sad ones?

Nope, only the ones I have already mentioned.

>>Any particular significance in losing our left ring finger?

It was picked at random! You silly buggers.

>>What happen if we are peek in the handjob sence?

Remilia tears your head off.

>>That reminds me, what would have happened if we had (not) drunk her blood?

Bad End, waking up in bed too weak to move, sheets covered in your blood, Remilia sobbing next to you.

>>And when we ate that blood chocolate thing when we visited Patchy with Flandre for the first time and our STATUS changed to ?????, was it Thrall Status?

Can't answer that, sorry.

Why does the Flandre route have to deal with the loose ends from this one? Okay, I'll admit, I haven't been the greatest at keeping the plotline together, there are far too many loose ends precisely because I'm writing the story on the fly and hoping to answer a lot of the questions in other routes. Sorry to anybody else who feels like there wasn't enough closure.

>>How is Remi and Flan's relationship doing?

Very well, you patched it up and brought them closer, something which Remilia couldn't do herself and Flandre wasn't quite right in the head to manage on her own.

>>Or Remi and Patchy, it was implied that she hadn't spoken to her much lately when she went to ask for her help fighting the monster, but how are things now?

They've lived in the same house for a century, there are going to be time when they don't talk for a few months, it's not really a big deal to them.

>>Flan yelled at Remi about her "brain rotting" and forgetting things, but what did she forget?

Can't tell you that, answered in another route.

>>How do they deal with Belnonymous's much shorter lifespan, do they try to extend it or just have fun while it lasts?

See above.

>>What were the things we fought in the catacombs?

Century-old leftovers. The Mansion and it's immediate surroundings have been in the Scarlet Family for a long, long time, from back when something else was built on that spot. A vampire in the Dark Ages is going to be a lot less worried about people peeking in his cellar.

>>Does Remi ever get a taste of Belnonymous's blood (a few drops from a cut, maybe), just for curiosity's sake?

She does, but only once she's already full, just to be on the safe side. The experience of being bitten is not as nice as you thought it might be, must be something to do with the vampire-hunter left in you. Remilia doesn't mind, she just wanted to try it once.

Then she does it once during sex and you nearly pass out. Good times.

>>How is Sakuya so much stronger than a normal human?

Not answering that here, wait for her route.

>>How will Remilia fare when Belnonymous is old?

See above.

>>How did Remilia meet Sakuya and Patchouli?

The former was in the damn story, the latter is not going to be answered yet.

>>If the Mokou vs. Remilia fight had happened, would we have been allowed to pick the ever-infamous Liver Option?

You would have been a little too preoccupied with keeping Remilia from burning to death to bother with that, but if Mokou turns up in another route, I will keep it in mind.

Do it. For all that's holy and sacred (and for all that's not), do it.

Too bad Remi is sterile.

>>Will there be a Cirno route? This is the only place where she truly belongs to, since she lives at the lake.
>She might turn up, but she won't have a route, sorry. She does play a large part in Pirates of Gensokyo.

Don't know if want or not. On one hand, possibly awesome story. On the hand, awesome and probably awesome story.

>>>That reminds me, what would have happened if we had (not) drunk her blood?
>Bad End, waking up in bed too weak to move, sheets covered in your blood, Remilia sobbing next to you.

Kind want to see. I have a weakness for sad end. Well, it may be more of a fetish but I don't get hard, just sad.

>>And when we ate that blood chocolate thing when we visited Patchy with Flandre for the first time and our STATUS changed to ?????, was it Thrall Status?
>Can't answer that, sorry.

Oh? Looks like this is more important than what it appeared to be (even if it didn't make much diference in the end. That we know of, that is.). Any specific route we can find it out then? Patchy?

>>Would choosing the whip over the sword make many differences?
>Very, but again, I won't tell you exactly how.

If, by any chance, we actually find that sword again, will we have to choose one of thek again? On second though, scrap that, I'm just gonna wait and vote.

Well, maybe because she showed shw knew more than Remi? That's one reason why I'm going for Flandre next.

If Sakuya fights the monster while Belmonymous is away and he doesn't tell Remi about it, do we get to see Vampire Sakuya?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=M0Fl6ulOyC0

Is there an end where Belmonymous actually fulfills his role as a vampire hunter, and either turns the Scarlets back to human with the Belmont blood or slays them?

Can Belmonymous learn magic? Say, if he asked Patchouli for a do-it-yourself book on the subject.

I seem to remember blank playing cards in our inventory; can Belmonymous create his own spell cards?

So far, we've seen the whip, axe, and stopwatch. Is there a cross or holy water subweapon?

Are the knuckle dusters actually useful for anything?

Could Frisca become a true fairy familiar? (the follows you around kind of deal)

Is it possible to be fate h4xed by Remi when not explicitly locked on her route? Maybe turned into a half-youkai as a sort of upgrade?

Is there any end at which Belmonymous actually becomes a vampire himself?

Finally, if we escape past Meiling in the middle of the night, are we likely to be eat by a Rumia?

In the Remi playthrough, the Belmonymous end niche is as Remi's husband. But in the other routes would Belmonymous need to take on some sort of job role to become a permanent fixture of the SDM? Assistant (to the) Head Librarian? Gardener? Chef? Perfect Butler?

We apparently missed a lot of Marisa. Is there any chance of a Keine cameo, as Flan's tutor?

Thanks, that's the whole point, I don't want to have people all twitchy and trying to get answers on the next play-through, I just want to start fresh and write without that clouding my judgement.

>>Also, besides the fact she can't kill what's already dead and would've proved useless in the final conflict, why no Yuyuko-sama?

Because you missed your chance to meet her, along with most of the other characters.

>>I just want to know what the hell the monster in the attic was, since it turned out to be the most important problem which immediately ended the story when it was resolved. It feels a little...MacGuffin-y? Do we find out more about it in another route?

You will find out, I promise, though it may not be as dramatic as you think. Other routes will primarily deal with other stuff, but questions left over from this one can be answered by more knowledgeable characters.

>>What was that? The popping noise.

Koakuma was outside, waiting for you to fall asleep. When you came outside she was torn between saying hello and fleeing in embarrassment because she was just about to try a sexual illusion on you again.

>>HY, do you think that you will ever go back to that pace before you started to work, or will you slow it down and one or two updates a day like in the last month?

Honestly, I will fist of the north star it when I can, which means not that often quite yet. For the moment I can probably manage more than one or two updates a day. It's like a positive feedback loop, the faster I write, the more I want to write, so I don't want to let it slow down too much. Rest assured that if I vanish for a day or something, I am coming back.

>>Obviously it doesn't have to be something as blatant as Remilia's, but will there still be some significant obstacle for each girl to overcome?

Basically yes.

You just have to investigate it properly, or avoid it altogether.

>>If Sakuya fights the monster while Belmonymous is away and he doesn't tell Remi about it, do we get to see Vampire Sakuya?

No, Meiling rescues her and takes her to Eientei. You, Remilia and Flandre return to an eerily quiet Mansion with about two dozen vamp'ed Maids. This makes it easier for Flandre to go into shock (very bad), Remi panics, the monster is lose, not in its room. Koakuma gets wounded and Meiling hates you for not alerting Remilia to what was happening, cue her punching you in the face.

>>17271
And holy shit, I can't answer any of the rest of them, just wait and see.

>>Is this a reference to anything or not? I hate to say, but my grindan gaems playing self wants to know.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2) is about the origin of the Vampire Killer, it was created by a wizard by the name of Rinaldo Gandolfi.

>>If it's too late for questions, ignore this. Anyway; at what point did we achieve the former, and at what point (if ever) did we achieve the latter?

Former: When you kissed her the first time, becoming no longer a curiosity, but a person to her.

Good idea, this Q&A business. A bit of criticism, if I may - probably the one thing that I really didn't like about this story is how hard it was to find any answers. From the writer's perspective, it's very easy to say "Why didn't you just ASK about XYZ?", but from the reader's view the answer is equally easy: "We'll DIE!" In the case of Patchy and the letter, we actually did ask and die for it, without even finding the answer we were looking for. The SDM is a very lethal place, and often it seems asking questions and playing the game right, so to speak, progressing towards a good end, are mutually exclusive.

Thanks for giving some answers here, and if you could, try to remember this for next time and have more (or more obvious) opportunities for us to satisfy our curiosity in the main story.

I know, I will try.

>>Thank God we danced around that one! But then another question must be asked. We had 2 opportunities before we actually told her about what was going on. What would've happened if we went with the first one?

Alerting Remilia earlier would have meant getting to Sakuya before she was unconscious, less bitten Maids and an easier time of it for all involved. Even earlier would have resulted in getting back during the fight, helping Sakuya force the monster back into its room and having Remilia chew you out for not telling her about it (as it was in the story, she was far too grateful for you rescuing Sakuya). Seeing as this would have led to a much different dynamic between you and Sakuya, events from that point would have changed a lot, including a whole different battle scene and something completely different happening with Remilia (which I will save for a different path, now that you haven't seen it).

>>I don't know if it's been asked yet, but could we have taken sword-guys offer if we went for it immediately, ignoring Mima? And if so, while you might not want to tell us what exactly happens, do we survive?

You could have. You survive, getting a boost to a few things (wait and see), but the battle is much harder. You would also have got to see Mima in action as she left the inside of your head to help you against the monster.

>>Someone said that the 'him' she was referring to was our manifestation of our vampire hunter instinct.

More questions for HY.

It seemed like the monster in the attic had some kind of boss immunity to the stopwatch, and even Remi was too fast for us when using it; is there any chance for Belmonymous to use the stopwatch in a meaningful manner? What about a dual-timestop Star Platinum vs. The World fight against Sakuya?

If we hadn't told Youmu that Sakuya was forgiven, would she have tried busting her out forcefully? If this had happened, would fighting Youmu become a possibility?

I'm assuming the gated entrance in the maze garden and the passageway in the kitchen are connected; how large is this dungeon? I'd like to see more whippan & grindan in the next iteration, but is there any reason to go down there besides the sword and Sakuya's deathtrap? If we want to break this hereditary curse of progressive insanity that grips the Scarlet line in a more permanent manner, do we need to fight the Chaos at heart of the Scarlet Devil Mansion?

Is there any possibility of the SDM being shunted back into the Outside as a consequence of Belmonymous or the other residents' actions?

I noticed Meiling was cool with modern things like the vidya & instant noodles. Is she a former citizen of the PRC? Does she have formal weapons training?

What was the deal with Flandre leaving her Lävatein on her bed while she was talking to Sakuya? Would we have Bad Ended if we had touched it? What was the reason and the consequence of Flan interrogating Sakuya?

Why was Sakuya unable to resist the thrall mating instinct while Belmonymous was? Did Remilia really forget about this effect of enthrallment or was this her way of "clearing the air" between the two of them?

What happens to Belmonymous if he survives the full week without really wooing any of the girls?

I can answer some of your questions, because they were mentioned in the story:
>It seemed like the monster in the attic had some kind of boss immunity to the stopwatch, and even Remi was too fast for us when using it; is there any chance for Belmonymous to use the stopwatch in a meaningful manner? What about a dual-timestop Star Platinum vs. The World fight against Sakuya?
'Timestop' is probably less accurate than 'super-time-slow'. Remi was able to move fast enough to negate the effect.

>I noticed Meiling was cool with modern things like the vidya & instant noodles. Is she a former citizen of the PRC? Does she have formal weapons training?

Formal weapons training is unlikely if she was from China. Plus, all of them get modern junk from outside. Patchy had FMA vol 2.

>What was the deal with Flandre leaving her Lävatein on her bed while she was talking to Sakuya? Would we have Bad Ended if we had touched it? What was the reason and the consequence of Flan interrogating Sakuya?

Flandre asked about the man upstairs, and tried to fight him herself as a result. HY did say that touching the Lavatein wasn't a bad end, but would tell us what happened.

Saguya, probably dead when Remilia tore down the wall and massacred his kind. He should suffer a much more painful death since he betrayed us.

I'm guessing that the skull plays no part in the main story. It was probably placed in there for humor since I'm sure most people enjoy seeing Belmonymous go delusional and start talking to inanimate objects. Guessing HY was laughing when he wrote that part.

I have one very big thing bothering me. Since we know some parts of the storyline like how and why Belmonymous got there. Wouldn't that kill a big part of the story like if we went through the same thing and Patchouli asks how we appeared at the Mansion and we reply that Yukari rifted us there? Then finding places like Flandre's room without asking her or knowing what's at the top of the tower. Currently, I'm imagining something very... Awkward.

*Scene where Belmonymous is trying to save the fairy maid*
Belmonymous takes out Belmont blood and uses it at dying fairy at the stone staircase. Awhile later Remilia arrives.
Belmonymous : I know what is happened to the fairy maid. The vampire at the tower of the tower? yeah, I knew about him already, we'll kill it eventually so don't worry.
Remilia : Huh!? How did you find out?! Did you go up there and see it yourself?!

>>17315

I would rather the fairy, her friends, and the rest of the household not suffer than to drag this out for no reason other than looking dramatic. Eirin will still know about it, as Remi would be quite disturbed about blood that reverses vampirism, and would seek Eirin for analysis. And since Belmonymous canonically has outside knowledge of the Touhoes, we could just ask Remi to take us there.

And before you go about claiming that this relies on meta-game knowledge, let me say right now that the same goes for your supposition that we lose Eirin as a result.

Anyway, Belmonymous had previous knowledge on what the blood would do locked away in his mind, that only revealed itself at the last moment. There are many possible reasons for him to realized it earlier than he did the first time around.

Yes, in NewGame+ you can change your starting location.

>>is there any chance for Belmonymous to use the stopwatch in a meaningful manner? What about a dual-timestop Star Platinum vs. The World fight against Sakuya?

Can't answer this, might spoil the potential awesome. Keep in mind that I am currently speed-reading most of Jojo.

>>If we hadn't told Youmu that Sakuya was forgiven, would she have tried busting her out forcefully? If this had happened, would fighting Youmu become a possibility?

She was pretty shocked about what Sakuya did. She would have pleaded for a while, then offered herself, then tried to break Sakuya out, but been seriously guilty about it. Getting in her way made her run off in shame, not try to fight.

>>I'd like to see more whippan & grindan in the next iteration, but is there any reason to go down there besides the sword and Sakuya's deathtrap?

There will be whippan and grindan, if not necessarily down there.

>>Is there any possibility of the SDM being shunted back into the Outside as a consequence of Belmonymous or the other residents' actions?

No, however funny Les Visitours would be with Remi as a main character.

>>I noticed Meiling was cool with modern things like the vidya & instant noodles. Is she a former citizen of the PRC? Does she have formal weapons training?

Can't tell you.

>>What was the deal with Flandre leaving her Lävatein on her bed while she was talking to Sakuya? Would we have Bad Ended if we had touched it? What was the reason and the consequence of Flan interrogating Sakuya?

Because she was going to fight the monster, she had left it on her bed. Like a forgetful child, she had got it out and then gone to talk to Sakuya. If you touched it, no bad end. You would have fucked with it's charged-up state, absorbing magic. Flandre would not have fought the monster, but something else would have happened, which I can't tell you. Flandre interrogated Sakuya because she wanted to know everything about the monster, simple as that.

>>Why was Sakuya unable to resist the thrall mating instinct while Belmonymous was? Did Remilia really forget about this effect of enthrallment or was this her way of "clearing the air" between the two of them?

You were resisting the urge based on being faithful to Remilia. Sakuya wasn't resisting it very well because she felt so guilty about betraying Remilia, her instinct was complete obedience. Yours was to keep your will your own.

>>What happens to Belmonymous if he survives the full week without really wooing any of the girls?

The routes are all based around the characters, but some routes are possible to play without romantic attachment. I take it nobody really wants to do this though? Also some routes are much longer than a week.

>>Whatever happened to Mr. Skull?

He was returned to his rightful place by Remilia, once she realised what he was. But who knows if he's still there. Knowing his name, he could be anywhere by now ...

>>And Secondly, why did you give us the choice to take him anyway? was there anything particularly important about Mr. Skull, or was that put there just as Anon-bait?

Pure bait. Needed some comic relief after the H-scene and the despair.

>>What happened to Saguya?

He was made the new Ghoul-king, years later. His adventures are not for human ears, we should stay on our island of ignorance, far away from the tales of the deep places of the world, lest out sanity be lost and we descend into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

>>That would totally kill the story.

Firstly, meta-game knowledge would be disallowed. More importantly, most of the stuff from the Remilia route won't come up again, certainly not repeat events, so there's little chance of this happening.

>>How is Belmonymous and Flandre's/Sakuya's/Koakuma's
relationship afterwards?

Flandre is half-way between little-sister figure and the 'thing' you glimpse on occasion, but Remilia is fine about you and her.
Sakuya drops back into her role as Maid, treating you as what you are: her Mistress's beloved. There is more than a smidgeon of tension between you though, of both violence and sexual attraction. Remilia makes a number of things clear to Sakuya, hands off, etc. Sakuya insists she would never touch you. You do drink with her sometimes though, but nothing beyond some mild joking happens. She tries to show you how to throw a knife properly, but you just manage to damage some plants in the garden. You and her develop a grudging respect, being united by your mutual love for Remi.
Koakuma is a little more complicated. She's a succubus, you're now a regular male resident of the Mansion. She wants you, a lot. Remilia is blissfully unaware, as however tempting Koakuma might be, love for Remilia wins you over every time. Whenever you go to see Koakuma, you make sure that you're not sexually pent-up even the slightest, just in case. Despite her constant barrage of flirting and teasing, Koakuma never seriously tries anything. Well, anything much.

Just wondering a little. Will there be new weapons? As in main-weapons. The sword replaces the whip in this route. I don't think it'll be nice to be stuck with a whip forever for the rest of the routes. Somewhat, I have the feeling you'll try to put in new weapons to replace the whip but I'm sure you'll never tell us what the weapons are until we reach that point in time.

Also, items. Will they be randomized? Or do we start with the standard set of items again? Not talking about key items like the whip but items like the keys and cards.

Choose starting location...? Let us start... At the top of the tower! Okay, not really. I'm pretty much fine with whatever the majority wants.

If my memory serves me right, the skull said something "take it from old Murray" so I'm guessing his name's Murray. I'm sure old Murray enjoys the sights of the outside world after being left underground for such a long time. Maybe glad that he's finally being returned to his body after witnessing the power his sword is capable of.

P.S. I don't hold anything against you HY, I understand that you are a very busy person. As humans, getting carried away is natural, so it's not your fault. As long as it doesn't come to a complete halt then I shall wait for the next game to begin. Not saying that I'll be complaining out loud. But I'm not so sure if everyone else can agree with me on this.

Well, I think if you didn't woo any of the girls, you won't be staying in the mansion anymore. After all, it was because of what happened on the first night you got there that Remilia decided to keep you.

P.P.S. Saguya should have died! He was a betrayer. He turned on someone who showed him mercy! He should burn I say! Burn!! Should have killed him when we got the chance.

Are we ever going to find out what 'You did this last time' was all about?

What the hell were the five pens all about? I still can't grasp that one.

Also, what's the deal behind the brass knuckles? Just something Yukari threw in, or is there more to it than that?

Maybe we will have a magic book in Patchy's route? That's be amazing.

I wonder what other weapons would befit a vampire hunter...

If we go the Perfect Butler route, I wouldn't mind seeing microfilament wire, a la Hellsing's Walter. I guess something like that would have to be a gift from Eirin, maybe for keeping watch over Sakuya (which assumes the Lunarian hypothesis).

We also started with a knife and knuckle dusters that we never used. Sakuya could teach us how to use the knife, while the knuckle dusters would fall under Meiling.

Meiling might have some Cold War military surplus stocked away somewhere.

Magic is a possibility on the Koakuma and Patchouli routes, given the amount of time you'll have in the library. Not necessarily even casting spells, but enchanting your weapons with elemental magic.

Flan is crazy enough that she might even let you play with Lävatein. And as she seems to have the oldest intact memories of the castle, maybe there's some other Norse-derived mythological weapon tucked away in the castle: Mjolnir, Thor's returning hammer; Gram/Balmung, Sigurd's dragon-slayer (would be ironic if it were used to fight "Smaug"); Tyrfing, the cursed sword; Dáinsleif, a wounding sword sword; Gambantein, Freyr's wand-sword; Mistilteinn, sword of the undead witch-king Þráinn; Skofnung, an unbreakable, wounding sword; Svalinn, the shield that protects the earth from the sun...

And the fairies? Maybe they can teach you to danmaku.

Interestingly, most of these weapons have been featured in Castlevania games. Gram/Balmung, Mjolnir, Dainslef, Mystletain (Holy element), Sword of Helge, Burtgang (increases defense), and Tyrfing (Dark element) are all in Castlevania games.

Of course, Gungnir and Lävatein are in there as well.

I want to convey the fact I'm slowly clapping over the internet to you Mr HY.

Bravo. Bravo.

This was a remarkable effort here and I only wish I had been present for the last few posts of it, I never quite saw these events unfolding as they did and was always pleseantly surprised by your plot. Top notch stuff.

That said I'm boiling over with envy and frustration that you've managed to finish such a huge arc already even though you started after me. If I fist of the North Star, when I get my provider that is, then burn out due to Burger Slavery and Plotton Picking too much I place the blame squarely on you.

Anyway, a few questions of my own:

At one point I think Patchy or someone shouted to Flan that she couldn't destroy the BBEG during the battle, why not?

What would of happened if we had gone to Flandre's side instead of joining the fray with the others?

How will the relationship of other characters effect other playthroughs, for example how will Flan and Remi's relationship change or interact with the Koakuma's Route?

How far did the catacombs stretch and what else was there to find?

Was there a chance to escape without help that time?

Add in other standard questions such as: Why the knuckle dusters, the pens, the photo with the writing on the back, the keys and the playing cards.

Once again, well done!

I's rather have a Talefing, but I can't stand RO faggotry anymore, not even my own.
